Job Summary:

This is a full-time field-based role, supporting customers across Central Scotland and surrounding areas. You will be on the road 4 to 5 days per week, with occasional overnight stays required.

Being an experienced Instrument calibration/validation technician and based from home, you will travel to your customer appointments, delivering excellent customer service at all times.

You will be tasked with the Validation, re-qualification and calibration of laboratory equipment in universities, hospitals, and other laboratory environments. You will work closely with your fellow Field Engineers, supporting them with projects and maintaining great communication with the service administration team based in Livingston.

We will supply you with the tools and test equipment you require as well as a company vehicle in order to fulfil your role to the very highest standard.  Previous experience working within a similar industry would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Be able to Coordinate your own work schedule with a proactive approach and in a highly organised manner.
  • Ability to trouble shoot analytically and problem-solve.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
  • Assuring the highest level of Customer Experience to achieve customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Producing and supplying timely and accurate reports of your activities to the customer and administration team: e.g. electronic service/calibration reports and expense submissions.
  • A strong team player, working remotely with the ability to connect with colleagues and management.
  • Self-motivated, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Full driving license required.

Office Administrator

£25,000 – £30,000 – Permanent Position

Job description

The last couple of years have seen C&M Scientific Ltd grow exponentially and the team have been instrumental in this growth. Due to this we have an exciting opportunity for an Office Administrator to join our team on a permanent basis.

ABOUT US

C&M Scientific Ltd, based in Livingston, is a leader in onsite laboratory engineering support. Our highly trained engineers provide expertise and support for scientific equipment: installation, validation, calibration, and ongoing maintenance. We provide a rapid call out service to our clients. We work with scientific, health, and academic organisations to keep their research platforms working.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Office Administrator, you will receive training to deal with the mixed role involved. There will never be a dull day! As this role covers the whole admin process you will have a good overview of the business.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSISTING WITH

  • CRM Database in supporting the administration staff with PM Contracts.
  • CRM Database in supporting administration staff with raising engineer’s jobs.
  • Completing contracted visit paperwork with the engineer’s recommendations for any remedial work required.
  • Handling calls and e-mails from customers and suppliers, assisting as required.
  • Raising Purchase Orders from internal requisitions.
  • Ad-hoc duties as part of the office team and holiday cover as required.

KEY SKILLS

  • Strong numeracy skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Able to confidently navigate through MS Office programs including Excel, Word & Outlook.
  • Attention to detail.

WHAT WE NEED

  • Minimum 12 months’ work experience within an office administration environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook.
  • Polite and helpful telephone manner.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Training of the CRM Database will be provided.

The hours for this role are:

Week 1 – 08:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday 30 minutes lunch

Week 2 – 08:30 – 17:00 Monday to Thursday 30 minutes lunch, 08:30 – 13:30 Friday no lunch.
